"And behold, the curtain of the temple was torn in two, from top to bottom. And the earth shook, and the rocks were split" [Mt 27:51] - it was a tragic biblical episode which not only Jesus was tortured by the chains of event but also His chosen people. Both Judas and Simon betrayed their Teacher, but one choose to escape and die, the other choose to face and live. Simon Peter had betrayed Jesus with three denials, and only when the rooster crowed, he knew he had denied the Truth. He was the chosen rock for Jesus to build up His Church, yet he was split like the rocks at the moment his betrayed and crucified teacher had His last breath on earth. At that moment, for Simon son of Zebede had must been the struck of lost, and for Simon 'Peter' - 'The Rock' - it had must been the split of black and white, of truth and lies. He became holy not because he choose to feel guilty after his betrayal, but the bravery when he turned around and returned to the truth, like the rooster had crowed in the darkest night, marking the new dawn and the new step towards heaven.
